Trapped in the unforgiving jaws of the spring-loaded trap, Elvis gave a resigned little sigh. “Well,” he said with a grimace, “this is awkward.” It squirmed a bit, testing the pressure, then looked up with a twinkle in its eye. “But I’ll see you in the spring!” Elvis declared, as though the trap was merely a temporary inconvenience. The second mouse Jerry was all heart, thinking ‘I’ll get the cheese now!’ Then, with a dramatic flick of its tail, Elvis said: “I’m caught in a trap but you can’t keep me down forever. And I’m pretty sure that spring is just a few months away.”
