Australian Closed! Novak Djokovic did not receive a COVID-19 vaccination while in Australia. In early 2022, he faced controversy over his vaccination status in relation to the ATP Australian Open. The GOAT had initially entered Australia with what he believed was a valid medical exemption from the vaccination requirement. But on arrival his visa was canceled, leading to legal battles and significant public attention. Ultimately, Australian authorities upheld the decision to cancel his visa based on his unvaccinated status, resulting in his deportation and inability to participate in the tournament. This was a literal Open and shut case.
